Formatted my harddrive - how do I set up me Outlook express to recive my emails?

I just formatted my harddrive and I forgot how to set up my e-mail account as it was before. It seam like I am getting a lot of spam e-mails - how do I get rid of thoses?

I am right now reciving 122 e-mails (that is a lot of mail to be my inbox!) and it is taking forever to download them for the server.

    Anyone help me?

Outlook will probably have to re-learn what spam is again seeing you formatted your HDD.
You'll probably just have to bear with it until i knows what spam is.

In c-panel I set up my default address to :blackhole: - is that correct for getting rid of mails that uses my domain name as e-mail address - eg support@mydomain.com, mail@mydomain.com? I am also wondering what my incoming and outgoing mail server should be (mydomain.com, SMPT, POP3???). As of now I cannot recived or send e-mails to my hotmail or yahoo accounts.

          Couple of things to try

Mail settings should be mail.yourdomain.com or yourdomain.com

also when you login via mail program user name is johndoe@yourdomain.com
          then your password
          Cheers,

It doesn't work. I can't recive e-mails to my e-mail account via Outlook Express. What am I doing wrong?

I wouldn't use :blackhole: personally. From a sysadmin point of view it adds overhead as it takes the email into the Mail Transfer Agent, processes it, then dumps it. Use :fail: instead as that rejects the mail at the MTA and doesn't process it

As for not being able to check your emails:
Have you made the email address you want to use via cPanel?
Have you tried different username combinations instead of user@domain.com? (Try + instead of the@ symbol)
              Is your password correct?
              Have you turned on/off authentification?

-Yes, along time ago - about 1 year ago

Have you tried different username combinations instead of user@domain.com? (Try + instead of the@ symbol)
                - When do I use this? I don't see a username, just an account name

                Is your password correct?
                -Yes

                Have you turned on/off authentification?
                -Yes

When I am setting up my account in Outlook Express I am using the same incoming and outgoing server eg mail.mydomain.com

There will be a login username for your email account that you need to use.

in cpanel on the mail page there is a link you could click that will setup the account in outlook express/outlook for you. You could always just use that.
