    IMAP Timeouts with Outlook 2003

I seem to be having the same issues as the person here: http://forum.pcs-net.com/viewtopic.p...b88e8c32e76672

I have Outlook 2003 on my desktop set to check email through IMAP, and I also have my Pocket PC phone set to check the same email account through IMAP. Whenever the Pocket PC does its scheduled Send/Receive, Outlook 2003 on the desktop will give a "Your IMAP server has closed the connection. This may occur if you have left the connection idle for too long." Details then shows "Lost mailbox lock."

One of the posts at the link above states:
"Just to update on this thread, we did some investigating on this matter. The issue is caused not by IMAP, but the default mailbox format that is used. Mail is stored as standard in mbox format and this does not support multiple concurrent connections. Conversion of this to MBX format however does allow concurrent connections and will therefore allow full mailbox sharing. Should you need this, please speak to support about it as this is a customisation you will need on your account as it involves rebuilding anc converting your exsiting mailbox(s) to MBX format"

Is this something that Dathorn support can do also?

    Thanks.

The two formats that cPanel uses for mail is mbox and maildir so that is not something that can be changed, sorry.

I use Outlook 2003 with IMAP at home and work I get similiar error msgs as well. I came ot the conclusion that outlook2k3 and imap dont get along too well.

Try thunderbird and you probably wont get those error msgs.
