    Neomail gone (cp53)?

    Hello,

Some of my clients (and even me) have been using Neomail (one of the three cPanel bundled webmail applications which are accessible by default) for quite some time and now after the move from cpanel16 to cpanel53 it's no longer listed on cpanel53.gzo.com:2095 . Is there anything I could do on my own (I've checked out the feature lists in WHM, but still haven't found anything suitable that could let me re-enable Neomail) or should I submit a trouble ticket?

Or even it's gone forever? If so, could you please tell us the reason? IMHO it was the most convenient webmail, especially for using with PPC.

Neomail is gone for good. First and foremost, it is not compatible with the new mailbox format. Secondly, it was the single most resource intensive webmail program of the 3 by far. It could easily create high server loads with even a semi-large mailbox.

Thanks for the quick clarification! We've got to stick to SquirrelMail then.

I do believe you about Neomail being resource intensive, but I admit that it looks a bit odd; I would have thought that IMP should be the most resource-hungry considering the number of features it offers to the users. Probably Neomail wasn't that well-written...

Oh, great. I didn't find out about this until now... I have a Christian School client with zillions of mailboxes, and everybody's using Neo. Wouldn't be a problem, except that they've been saving their messages in there too. Obviously, the messages are still in the files, but not in any sort of legible format. Any way to salvage these for them?
