    e-mail blocked by comcast

    Today I had an unpleasant surprise when an important outgoing e-mail from our domain hosted on cpanel42 was blocked by comcast based on the IP address being associated with spam:

    host gateway-s.comcast.net [63.240.76.26]: 550 74.52.39.194 blocked by ldapu=rblmx,dc=comcast,dc=net -> BL004 Blocked for spam. Please see http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/inde...il_Policy18628

    is anyone else having this problem?

    Submit a trouble ticket so Andrew can get it resolved.

      I did already submit a ticket, and indeed the problem has been resolved quickly. I've been quite happy with the level of technical support provided here.

      I started this thread just out of curiosity to see if I'm the first/only person who noticed the problem on that server. I suppose that paying for a separate IP address would be one way (the only way?) to avoid it happening again. Unfortunately, there is not a lot that DIS can do to prevent this since since mailing lists, a virus on someone's local machine, etc. can always cause some amount of spam to get sent out via one of the shared hosts.

        All the mail goes out thru the main ip of the server. Purchasing an extra IP won't resolve the issue.
