    You cannot have more than 8 concurrent connections to the FTP server. Either you have too many currently open or did not close previous connections properly. Please submit a trouble ticket if you need further assistance.

      Sweet, CuteFTP decides it wants to open 8 connections for no reason.

      I manually closed every connection via cPanel and started from a fresh connection. It slowly opened 8 connections and locked me out.

      Back to filezilla.

        It should have an option to disable or set the number of connections. Some FTP programs will do this by default.

          This is configurable ... I use FileZilla now, but in the version of CuteFTP I had, you can limit the number of connections with the Tools > Global Options > Connection "Per site max connections / transfers".

          I think CuteFTP will still try more connections if it has a full transfer list waiting, even after you make that config change. IIRC it defaults to three or four connections, but will increase the connections if it has more files to transfer than the setting. So clear the upload list after resetting the "Per site max connections" setting, and exit the program and restart.
