    Squirrel Mail

    A bit of clarification please...

What is the difference between installing Squirrel Mail via shell or using the cpanel option. All comments appreciated.

If you install your own copy, you have control over the configuration. Also, it will run at the standard http port as opposed to one of cPanel's non-standard ports.

      Transfering through Shell

Has anyone here loaded SquirrelMail through the shell using Mac OSX terminal or MacSSH?

If so, can someone either post their process or provide a few pointers through e-mail?

      Thanks,

      - Fran

Not with a Mac, but I have done it through a shell. It really is as simple as this.

Thats the problem; I'm trying to help him
do it yet (even I verified this) it seems Shell/SSH
          in cPanel is screwy....

Up top says the usual 'OpenSSH' part; but
doesn't put the 'LOGIN & PASSWORD ACCEPTED'
          nor let you tyep, etc.

The cpanel ssh client is pretty ... thin. I'd recommend downloading a client from www.openssh.org. They have shells for Linux/Windows/MAC etc
