Try to backup in any way (save to text, etc.) the current e-Mails,
then delete the account and set it up fresh.

Also did you enter the username like 'user@domain.com' ?
Also did you use it for all aspects (outgoing, incoming) etc?

I am also having a problem sending mail thru my dathorn accounts.
I just noticed a few days ago when I got back from a weeks vacation.

I get the following error when I try to send thru accounts that I was able to send thru previously using Outlook Express:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.agoodhost.com', Server: 'mail.agoodhost.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have tried doing what you said, Jonathan, but even after deleting all mail accounts and remaking them it's still a no go.

As an added note, the "Automatically configure OE" script on cPanel no longer works either.
Even tho it says that it changed my registry OE refuses to add the account info.

        Any ideas?

Has you ISP decided to stop allowing SMTP traffic, mine did. I can only use their SMTP server now.

I have the same problem with one of my ISPs (I have two dial up accounts). They have port 25 blocked, no ifs, ands or buts, and will not open it back up. So I cannot send mail through any of my Dathorn accounts from that logon.

One workaround is to use the web-based email programs provided in Cpanel (Horde, SquirrellMail or the other one ... can't remember its name right now). You have to compose the email on the web, but it will be sent from your domain rather than your ISP account.

What's the problem with just using your ISPs server for outbound? You can still leave your email address in for the reply to. Only place it will be noticeable is in the email header.
