    FTP Permissions

I am trying to change FTP permissions to 444 because it is required to do so by a script I installed. But it keeps changing back to 644 all by itself resulting the program to give me an error message about this. What can I do?

Pardon me if I'm off base in not being clear on the nature of what is happening -- Some of these graphic applications will upload with the permissions automatically set to 644 by default, but then you can right click on the file on the server side to re-set the permissions in a pop-up window.

I had this very same problem, and couldn't find a way around it through the FTP program. I eventually gave up and just logged into the File Manager in cPanel and changed the file permissions there. Try that if all else fails.
