    New to Web hosting

    Hi guys,

Im new to webhosting. After setting up a new account, where will I find the ftp of that particular account? Is it simply ftp.newaccountdominname.com? Cause I tried it on the new account I just made and it appears to contain someone else's data.

    That is correct.
You do however need to wait for the domain to propogate to the cPanel server here at Dathorn.
It could be that you're still getting to the old host

What is the data? By default, you'll have ./etc ./public_html ./public_ftp ./tmp in your directory. If those are mainly empty, you're fine.

You can ftp in before the domain propagates by going to the IP address and logging in using your login.

As far as someone elses data goes, Cpanel has been known to allow people to create duplicate logins and then when you ftp in or log into the cpanel you actually see their data. I do not know if this was ever fixed or not but if that is what you are seeing then you will have to delete the account and recreate using a different login.
