    mac mail problem

    what is mail settings for outlook5 on macintosh

    i have this settings but not worked

    user= (user@domain.com) pass= (****)

    incoming and outgoing servers= (mail.domain.com)

    but not worked
    can you help me

    I used that as a general guide to setting up an email account
    in Thunderbird... I'm sure their Mac instructions could be a adjusted
    a little so it works for your domain. I think... lol (never used Mac, sorry)

      What's not working? Your ISP may be blocking outbound SMTP so you wouldn't be able to send mail using mail.yourdomain.com. You should be able to POP and IMAP your domain though. Also, are you sure you've created the account and using the correct password.

        those settings should work fine on a mac, at least they work for me.

        When I am at home on using my isp I have to use their smtp settings though. If you are using panther OSX 10.3, try using postfix, it is a built in mail server on the MAC, search for postfix enabler on google to get it set up. once set up use 127.0.0.1 or localhost as your smtp


        I find this to be a faster way to send email anyway
