    If you mean that you want to use ftp login to your ftp account and then append an email to your file for your email account inbox, no, you shouldn't try that. You'll end up clobbering the file where your inbox is stored.

    If you mean that you want to use ftp to login to the email account itself, no you can't do that at all.

      OK. Thank you. What would be the best way to upload large files to my hotmail, yahoo or gmail account for simple redundant backup storage?

        Email is not really intended for off-site backup storage. Also, to email binary information (such as a picture, or in your case, a backup zip file, for example) the binary is encoded to use only normal text characters, and this makes it larger. The best solution is to use ftp instead. If you need an account that lets you use ftp, they're readily available and cheap.
