My guess is they are working on the server...

At this point the server hadn't even been down 30 minutes (it was only down for ~20 minutes anyways). Regardless, when important issues arise we are fixing them not answering tickets discussing the same issue - until it is resolved or at least partially under control. This particular case was just a customer wrecking havoc on the server performance-wise.

Dathorn does a much better job at providing uptime than any of my prior hosts (3 of them). I don't even look for greener pastures anymore, except when I'm looking at a VPS or dedicated server if one of my sites starts getting a lot of traffic.

Cpanel19 has had over 99% uptime since 7/2003, had 100% uptime in August, over 99% in September, and will most probably have 99% in October. If you have a mission critical site that needs more than 99% uptime, you should be on a dedicated server with a comprehensive maintenance contract. Expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $300 a month for that level of service (of course, you get much more bandwidth and diskspace). I don't know if the data center people are any faster at responding to you though; from what I observe, probably not.
