what to do before WHM account is created?

    Hi,

I just signed up for a plan and got my account login email. But it said that my WHM account has not been created yet. Is there anything I can do until the WHM account is up? I changed my passwords in the Customer Control Panel but that's about it. Can't figure out if there's a way to get in to my webspace and get some stuff online before the WHM account is set up.

    Thanks,
    Alex

Pretty much can't do anything til WHM is up and running.
They do that by hand, to prevent obvious fruad, etc.

Sometimes its just a few minutes, or up to a few hours.

      confustion about disXXXX account

Thanks for the reply. My WHM is now set up. I created a new package and account without any problems. But I'm a little confused about the "default" disXXXX account. It does not show up in WHM but does show up in cPanel if I log in as disXXXX. Tells me I have 5 megs of disk space available on it. Is there any way to change that? Or is this just a 'dummy' account that needs to exist so that I can create others?

      Thanks,
      Alex

          FAQ

Thanks Oz. That's the FAQ I used to set up the new account. But I'm still a little confused about the default disXXXX account. Just wondering where I can change settings for this default account or even if it's a real account or just exists as some sort of starting point.

Oh, i never even used my default account.

I just setup an account and then set my nameservers and stuff to that domain. So i don't know.

You should not be using the default account (dis####) for anything other than logging into WHM. You need to create accounts for all of your domains including your own within WHM.

Or, if you like, your dis-xxxx account is your skeleton directory. Any pages/files uploaded into the public_html folder there will be the default files included in new domains that you create!
