ThePlanet.com inaccessable from parts of UK?

Just thought I'd let people know that there seems to be problems getting to dathorn served websites from some places at the moment. I can check my email from my mobile (cellphone), and netcraft says they are up, but not access the sites via machines at work. It seems i can't access anything at http://theplanet.com (that is where we are located, right?)

Traceroute www.theplanet.com shows it to be impossibly slow:

Update: what ever the problem was, it is fixed now. But theplanet was unavailable for several hours.

I guess that all depends on what ISP you're using from the UK.
I notice you seem to use a BT pipe, whilst i'm on NTL and things are fine

Could one of those topics be the reason?

If you look at the Trace Route Jonathan you can see that there's hops in the UK that weren't responding. Most likely a UK to US transit pipe having issues or something

It was even subtler than that. I gather my partner had no problems at home, and our broadband is (deep down) supplied like bt.

And from work, I didn't notice problems with any other sites but ones at ThePlanet. Hey, what can I say? It was a quiet day!

Your work place probably has a BT business service, which most probably goes through different networks/hops to get to locations compared to your home ADSL service.
BT has a bit of a crap business service if i'm not mistaken. My dads company has had major issues with their ADSL line, so much so, they're going to move to someone else
