how to use shared SSL?

I am building an e-commmerce site for a client and she wants to use another hosting service which provides shared SSL. I was wondering if she is able to use that. The shopping cart is LiteCommerce. Thanks!

Email the host and ask how their shared SSL works.
Do they provide it? Or are they saying your allowed to use Chained SSL, etc.?
