Install of Gallery did not work

I wanted to install Gallery on one of my domains.

I went into Control Panel for the domain.
I clicked on the Script Library icon.
I clicked on the Gallery script.
I filled out the Gallery script install form.
It seemed to run ok to completion.
It lists my new gallery on the gallery page.

But when I click the gallery link, it comes up with an internal server error.
    This is the gallery link:

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong.
I tried to read all the Forum threads that mentioned Gallery.

Try to see if you can install a copy of Gallery yourself,
it seems some cPanel installs don't come out right.

It could also be the upgrade in PHP, but I'd
think we would see more topics bout how
Gallery has stopped working for them.

      Check your .htaccess file.

Gallery uses PHP alteration commands inside .htaccess. I'm sure cPanel doesn't take this into account when using the installer scripts available.

You'll need to seperate out the PHP modifications and put them inside a php.ini file.

I installed gallery on a site of mine recently (by hand) and it worked out fine (was testing diff. gallery type software, currently running coppermine on the domain).

I would suggest doing it by hand, and not via cpanel. Cpanel installed scripts have a tendcy not to work correctly.

I did the same using Cpanel and it took some doing but I got it to work... however it was in the files permissions....can't remember... but it was a pain the version you install from scratch is far easier ....
            Cheers,
