    Hits from LiveJournal

One of the websites I run is getting a lot of hits from several different LiveJournal sites and other blogs. By several I mean upwards of thirty. Most of the pages are only giving me a few hits each, but a few are giving 30+. The vast majority is traffic not viewed. There is nothing on the pages pointing to my site.

Here is what my refering sites section in AWStats looks like.

They aren't using much bandwidth, it's just weird. I don't see anything malicious, but this just doesn't seem right. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on?

    Thanks.

Most likely someone spoofing the referring address if your link isn't on there.
I have this problem quite a lot where by people spoof the referall address in order to get a trackback link added.

The only thing is, i don't operate trackbacks.
I started to add IP addresses to a deny list inside a .htacces file.

Okay, I read about TrackBacks. If I understand correctly, it's a system where blog content is aggregated and eventually catalogued on a central server somewhere. I'm a little confused though, because my site is not a blog, and has never been affiliated with any blog sites.

I don't even know why someone would want to spoof my refferal address. This particular site has only been up for a couple months and only gets a few visitors per day.

Just an annoyance I guess. Oh well, thanks for your reply.
