Google sitemap

Hi i am trying to install this new google sitemap script. It says...

Once you have copied the files to your webserver, you'll need to run the Sitemap Generator script. Connect to your webserver and run the following command:

$ python sitemap_gen.py --config=/path/config.xml

Can anyone let me know what i have to do to run it please?

Before you begin

Webmasters attempting to install and execute sitemap_gen.py should have knowledge of uploading files to their webserver, connecting to their webserver, and running scripts. In addition, Python version 2.2 must be installed on your webserver - check with your web hosting company if you are unsure.

Is python even installed on the server(s)? Might be a good idea to submit a TT and ask.

There is a list of other scripts out there somewhere on the google site that you can use. I glanced at one PHP script they had listed. But I don't remember the URL where Google listed those other scripts that support their sitemap program.
