    Wordpress script eating up RAM?

Recently I got a warning about my wp-trackback.php eating my too much RAM on the server. Has anybody experienced the same problem? I have spam karma 2 installed but I am not sure if it has anything to do with it.

      Ran Out of Memory

I got curious, and took a look a wp-trackback.php file. (I'm looking at version 1.5.2, it's installed on my development server.) However, 23 include()'ed files, totaling 314KBs just to record 5 varables seems excessive. Thankfully the trackback didn't need any templates! Although the template-functions were include()'ed. There were a few other the database queries not even involved in the trackback too. All comes down to a lot of hard drive operation for just one page.

I doubt it's just the wp-trackback.php file giving you trouble though it could use some work to say the least. What kind of traffic you getting? Has it picked up lately?

Have you posted on the wordpress support website?
They may be able to advise you.

I'm guessing your trackback system is being abused by spammers which may explain the warning.

I turned off trackback on my admin, turned it all off for my pervious articles, and even renamed my wp-trackback.php to something else so it wouldn't be called again. i also turned off spam karma 2. so hopefully it won't cause any RAM abuse problem.
