    regarding recent software upgrades

i just wanted to let you all know that i'm slightly upset about the recent software upgrades.

    2 reasons,
    1. i wasn't notified by email. i can't check the forums daily (i've since subcribed to the announcement forum)
    2. the upgrades broke software i using that was installed by cpanel
i assumed that scripts in the cpanel installer would atleast have a upgrade option for future updates.

one of the things that broke was tikiwiki.
the same version is still available to install in cpanel, however it won't work.
you may want to fix this.

i tried another wiki available in cpanel, it also didn't work.

i wasted atleast 10 hours of work and lost some data to this upgrade.

    i'm not happy.

dathorn doesn't have any control over what software (or versions) are available in cpanel. The best bet is always to just install the software yourself (works better most of the time that way too).

Have you checked the software's website to see if they have released a newer version?

i tried to upgrade tikiwiki, however after several frustrating hours i gave up. i decided to install a new wiki. then copy and pasted all the data over.
