    Backup question

Have a backup question - please excuse my inexperience on this subject. At the present time I go into Cpanel every 2 weeks and perform a backup. After it is completed I FTP the backup to my home PC. If the server my account is on has a major problem, will this backup be able to restore my site. What is the difference between the backup I perform and the one you would Dathorn to do daily, weekly, monthly???? What do most of you people do for backing up??? Thanks!

That backup that you make will restore your site just fine and in some ways it is easier than our backup system depending on your needs.

I see the backup file is a big gzip. If a backup needs to be restored, how is that done?

You'll need to provide us with the file and we'll have to restore it for you.

Thanks, Andrew. So, if not using the backup service, I should have each cpanel user do their own backups? If it needs to be restored, they need to ask me, and then I send it to you?

Another Q: reading around, I see that there's a function for WHM backup (I assume all accounts under WHM). But, I don't see it in my WHM panel?

That's not available at the reseller level.
