My buddy's currently getting hell from his host for creating too much traffic on his site. He's currently running phpBB (yeah yeah, I know...its horrible on CPU usage) with ~800 users, and generates about 750MB of traffic/day. However, his host is currently more concerned with the CPU load, which is around 20000 processes a day, peaking at 25000, which is apparently ~10% of all processes on the server. I've never seen a host count individual processes, but apparently these guys do. Server load from what I see currently is 0.36, 0.50, 0.69, but then again its off hours. I'll have to check again to see what's up.
Anyways, I'm willing to double my monthly payment to upgrade to a corporate account to fit him in my plan if Andrew will allow this "much" traffic. Granted, I know this is shared hosting, but those load numbers don't see too high to me. Lemme know if I'm way off base here. Thanks.
