SSL directory help needed

I have a SSL cert installed, and when I go to the domain, https://secure.domainname.com, I get the following:

Test This is a secure test

But if I upload a file to my "secure" folder, and try to access it either via https://secure.domainname.com/filename or https://secure.domainname.com/secure/filename I get a 404. Anyone know what I am missing here?
