websites unavailable - but only for some people?

I'm been getting several reports from a few different clients saying that they can't access their websites or email? It started a few days ago, and they still can't access.

Bizarrely, everything looks fine to me. In fact, some clients can access their sites at one location, but not at another.

It leads me to suspect a problem with one or more UK ISPs. I suppose a web domain could be blacklisted - like an email domain can. But it's occurring on different domains and, in some cases, IP addresses.

Anyone have any ideas? (I'm on cpanel72)

Sounds like they've entered a wrong password for e-mail many times and got blocked by the IDS. You'd better submit a TT with their IPs for Andrew to look into this.

I don't think that's the case. It's affecting email and visiting their website too. One client can access everything fine in his office, but can't from home ... he gets network timeouts rather than anything failing.

It may just be a co-incidence that a few clients have reported problems at the same time. But I'm beginning to suspect some UK ISPs might be having internet connectivity issues.

That's exactly what would happen if the user's home IP address was blocked by the server (usually due to excessive failed login attempts).

Well, it appears that they've got access back again, so it could have been a temporary glitch.

          Thanks for the help, anyway.

Happened the same here, I'm also on cpanel72. The problem looked as if the dns server could not be resolved... strange... looks fine today.

Your server has not experienced any problems. As always, if you are having problems like this, you need to submit a ticket.

                same issue

I'm running into the same problem. If I try to login from work, things are fine. If I try from home, the DNS doesn't even resolve. I'll submit a ticket.
