why doesnt dathorn support chained SSL?

I just installed a SSL certificate issued by godaddy/starfield. Its a chained SSL certificate. I didnt install the intermediate as recommended by tech support, even after telling them Starfield says to install it. Now I'm having security warnings appear whenever they access the https:// portions of the site, and Dathorn tells me they dont support Chained SSL.

Starfield says all web server software supports Chained SSL.

Dathorn says they dont support Chained SSL.

So the question is: why doesnt Dathorn support Chained SSL?

And more importantly: How do I go about installing the intermediate certificate?

    HELP!!!!!

Dathorn doesn't support or ALLOW them as far as I know. There have been problems with chained SSL certs that have brought down the entire server. I remember back when my server was CP03 ( it's now CP33 ) it went down do to someone trying to install a chained SSL cert and this is why they are not allowed. It was one of many occurrences involving chained SSL certs.

If this has change or not I would like to know? A nice sticky post in "Announcement" would also be appreciated too. I'm not to worried about my server but the new customers need to know so they don't waste their money or bring the server down. Moderators? Andrew?
