cpanel09 slow - pages timing out

People are telling me pages are timing out and the stay on the same page.

I just went and tried to update some information and the form timed out 3 times before reaching the database of the fourth try.

Don't feel bad. I just submitted a tt and my clients are screaming bloody murder and I can't give them an answer.

Doesn't help when I sign up a new client and his website is down just like his previous provider.

How long does it take to reboot a server? Ten, twenty, thirty minutes?

I got a responce around 11:35 AM (Central Time) that the server was rebooting, the time is now 11:47 AM and nothing on the server.

If there are problems on the drive - a Disk utility might need to be run fsck and on an server like cpanel09 (that needs to be upgraded) that can take a while just for the fsck.

The server is indeed currently running a file systems check, we will have it back online as soon as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Any word on what it was and why it was rebooted?

The server hung on some bad processes and required an fsck before it would reboot properly.

Hopefully the upgrade on Friday fixes it

                              Thx Andrew.
