Not ready to let it go/die just yet, help with IPB 1.2

I'm still running IPB 1.2 - Yup, its old. It serves my purpose for forums, and it doesn't run high loads.

    Main few problems I'm having.

    - Lets multiple people sign up from same IP address
    - Issue with people's interal network IP address show up on forums
ie. 192.168.* or 172.16.* or 10.* show up when they sign up / surf. If I block those IP's on the forums, some users who are behind firewalls/routers who show up as normal IP's cannot view the forums.

If anyone has any ideas, or knows of any hacks that can help me resolve these issues/problems, would be greatly apperciated.

Sooner or later I know Im going to have to move to a different forums. Not sure if any of them will allow me to import my current database over to them. If anyone has any ideas on that, let me know as well.

I'm not great at SQL stuff, I've managed to kill my forums at least twice trying to update them or move them to a new home. So dumb it down on that aspect, but drop a pc in front of me, and I can fix it hardware/software. Go figure. :P

most "large" forums have a conversion utility. I've changed my data quite a few times...

Sorry can't help on the other stuff.
