What should I use as my database server?

Hi. I'm trying to set up oscommerce. It asks for my database server.
I know that I could use localhost here.
However, I'd like to have oscommerce running on www.domain.com.
And, I'd like to create several sites:
www.domain1.com, www.domain2.com, www.domain3.com
and they would all use the same instance of oscommerce, which is on www.domain.com.
So, they wouldn't be able to refer to the database server as "localhost".

Is this possible, and if so, what do I use for the database server?

If the domains are all on the same server, you can use localhost and it will work just fine.

If they are not all on the same server - then there is a problem. We do not allow remote MySQL connections.
