What are the plans for MySql5 upgrades? Same as the php5 upgrades...ie...in the works?

PHP 5 is already available on servers that have been upgraded to our new platform.

MySQL 5 is not yet available. We want to make sure everything will go smoothly with the upgrade first.

To further clarify, MySQL 5 could very well be available on all servers within the next week or two.

That soon! Probably take that long for my other host to answer my trouble tickets inquiring about their MySQL 5 plans.

While we're at it - if anyone specifically knows of a script that is still not fully compatible with MySQL 5.x please let us know so that we can look into it.

Will it be using strict mode or MYSQL40?

In all likelihood we probably won't be able to use strict mode, but that's what we're trying to test to see which scripts will not work with it.

Might be a good idea to stick this update and question in an announcement so it can get the broadest audiance.

The one I know for sure is IPB 1.3 because it uses "mod" as a temp table name for SELECTs whilist in mySQL 4+ this is a reserved keyword. Maybe others with the problems of the same type.

                        Drupal

As near as I can tell, Drupal will work with MySQL 5 but not in strict mode.

I think the 5.0 strict mode issues with Drupal have been mostly or entirely fixed- certainly Drupal runs fine with typical settings.

Does IPB 1.3 work with MYSQL 5? I have several sites that still run IPB 1.3 and will need to up date them to something else if they don't work.

Anyone have a good free board to use that i can convert the data from ipb to? I tried PHPbb for one of my site but the covert didn't work so everything had to be recreated.
