cpanel backup?

I tried saving a mysql backup and then restoring it on another account, but the mysql database is truncated when I restore.

Am I doing something wrong here, or is there a problem on the setup?


I was looking at the backup module for cpanel on cp24 and I notice it says:

cPanel System Backup is not enabled on this machine. Some other type of backup system may be in place, however downloads cannot be fetched using this module.

only Dathorn, with root access, can restore backups.
Its a stupid thing, really (the cPanel backup).

Better to manually save all the files and
get a .SQL for each database you got.

I know Andrew has to do the full backup restore. But the individual sql and home directory backups used to work... but they don't seem to now.

Could be that your server has been changed to the new backup system.

As far as I understood, the new backup system should not affect the standard Cpanel backup features.

I had this same problem when moving and upgrading a forum to dathorn. I had to break my database into 3 pieces to get it uploaded. Just pick up where it got truncated.
