    Make subdir an add-on domain?

Is there any way to make an existing subdirectory an add-on domain? Trying to make it an add-on from CPanel just tells me the domain already exists and won't do that.

I could probably delete it, then create the add-on domain, but there must be an easier way.

Or can I create a new DNS entry somehow to map this?

One way you could try is to rename the current folder that you want as a subdomain.
Setup your subdomain with the right folder that you want to use.
Use and FTP client to move all of the files from your renamed directory to the subdomain directory.

That sounds about right. There is a certain order you have to do. I had to do it cause I had given my mother a directory on my community site that had been promoted in the press a bunch [domain.com/mom] I then decided to install pmachine for her and give her her own domain name for future promotion [momsdomain.com]. Instead of doing a redirect I ended up pointing the domain to what turned into a subdomain. So now you can get there via momsdomain.com, domain.com/mom & mom.domain.com.
