    fp extensions not working?

Hi... I created an account and checked the box with "frontpage extensions"...
but FP extensions are not working.

I testet my clients poll and when I hit the "send" button the thing says that there is a nortbot.htm file missing or sth like that. Thats part of the FP extensions, right?

    am i missing something?

Is it possible that this err is appearing because the site was uploaded with FTP?

Should it be uploaded via "PUBLISH" option in frontpage?

This is weird... I dont even have _derived/nortbots.htm file... so I tried and edited the clients script from

action=_derived/nortbots.htm to action=\"--WEBBOT-SELF--\" but it still gives me the NOT FOUND error... =(

Yes, publish the website within FP. Do not use FTP. I would suggest to re-isntall FP Ext. on that site, and also re-create the web for that site as well.

Then you should not have any problems.

Well the client uploaded the site as advised but now he's getting another error... here is the PIC (http://www.neo-serv.net/screenshot.gif)... I already reinstalled the FP extensions in CPanel myself before he uploaded the site via Frontpage.

              any other ideas? =(

Isn't SharePoint one of Microsoft's servers/services? If youre customer requires SharePoint capability, I doubt you'll have it at Dathorn.

I believe SharePoint is just another reference to the FrontPage server extensions (or at least that's what MS calls them as of FP2002). In particular it wraps admin tasks (which previously were done with the IIS MMC) with a glitzy web interface that runs on another port.

They old ways/new ways should be pretty muck backwards/forwards compatible.

No, they're different stuff altoghether. MS SharePoint is available only on Windows Server 2003 where FP ext you can use on any platform (good luck anyway)

If your website requires MSSP services and you're trying to run it on FP extension enabled server - it's not gonna work.

                    See http://www.microsoft.com/office/fron...dinfo/faq.mspx for more info.
Also see www.frontpagetalk.com forums, lots of good stuff there for FP-ers.

I use FP a lot but I NEVER use FP ext of any sort, neither the FP themes.
FP 2003 is a nice program and as long you don't use the MS specific stuff you'll be alright.

By the way, Superfly, would you mind posting a link to that website, I'd like to have a peek. I guess I might even understand the lingua balcanicus :-)

It comes standard with the FP2002 Server Extensions, and seems to arrive quite happily and silently on Win 2K - I could be wrong, but I think I've seen it on NT4 as well.

You're going to see a lot more of it when MS finally drops support for the FP2000 server extensions - which should be soon.

Yeah, the link where I was testing was testing.neo-serv.net and I managed to get FP EXT working there... now I created a new account @
slo-raziskave.org and I'm trying to do the same there, but no luck! The script is the same and i reinstalled the fp ext twice...
