You don't need much of a dedicated server to run just one or two sites with lots of traffic. if your going to do some kind of forum site, i suggest using this software
its really fast, and will cause LESS of a problem than other popular software out their from what i hear.
however its suggested that if you have huge forums or very popular forums to host them using a VPS or dedicated (even semi dedicated) server solution, as these are shared servers and big forums and bad scripts will cause major problems for the other users on the server.--------
