    What are .PL files ?

    What are .pl files?

Ive seen a bunch of them this morning while running top on cp08, most of them are doing 2-4 cpu like this one neomail.pl

Is that a script that is allowed or not? (only reason I ask, is because as usual in the morning on cp08 I have trouble loading my forums page times out, so I ssh in and look @ top)

    So now Im askin.

.PL is Perl files; basicly same thing as .CGI files.

Are .pl scripts allowed? I've set permissions to 755 and still no go

Did you upload in ASCII mode?
And basicly Perl is same as CGI.

If CGI is enabled, Perl should workd.

Yup--even SSHed to it too and checked. It looks fine to me though

Still dunno whats up with it. It's Matt's Guestbook script. Variables are correct, I am sure of it.

I think I figured it out...apparently it does not like being called .pl even though it lies within cgi-bin. Rename to .cgi and it seems to work fine

yes neomail is allowed, it is a webmail client that is a part of cPanel
