I can't find any way to customize the installed AWStats script in CPanel.

Does anyone know how to alter the time and the frequency of when the stats are read and updated?

I've read the docs at the AWStats site, but they assume I have installed it myself and have root access.

I do not think there is a way for you to edit any settings because it is a whole server install. You would have to install it yourself to edit settings.

Or.... can anyone suggest a better way to get more current and ongoing stats? The installed AWStats script updates only once per 24 hour period.

the update interval is to keep the load down on the server.

you can install your own awstats, but you have to be carefull if the logs will be big, cause it can use allot of server resources.

My clients have asked me to provide country stats and resolved IP addresses.
They are used to that from my previous provider.

if your client REALLY REALLY wants the country and ips
you are going to have to install your own copy of awstats. set it to update and resolve ips at 3am-4am cst, that will keep you from getting in trouble with resources usage.

And how to deal with Dathhorn's log management? It kills log file and stat prog needs to read data before they are killed.
